KRIZIA CAPELES, FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR  Krizia Capeles is the founder and Executive Director of From Outside In, a 501c3 non-profit organization that helps inspire confidence in the lives of youth from the outside-in. Krizia also works as the Florida Hospital Church’s Justice Ministries Director, a position that allows her to mobilize a congregation to serve in the Central Florida Community.  Krizia has a passion for getting others involved in service. She enjoys reading, scrapbooking, coffee shops, cats, and hanging out with family and friends. She is married to Matthew Evans and they have 2 cats together.

 JOSANN NEWELL, Keller Williams - BOARD CHAIR  Josann Newell, known by her friends as Jo, is a member of Your Florida Home Team at Keller Williams. She is originally from Mandeville, Jamaica, and grew up in Southern California.  Jo graduated magna cum laude from California Baptist University with a degree in Human Development. After graduation, Jo focused her energies on building a career in business, marketing, and sales. She worked her way up to become Vice President of Operations at NLS Worldwide, a retail company operating seven boutiques across North America. Jo was a member of the executive team that grew the company’s profits by opening multiple locations.  In 2017, Jo was appointed Chair of From Outside In, a nonprofit organization working to provide free gently used clothing for youth in need. She also joined the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to marshalling government entities, businesses, the faith community, and other nonprofits to make homelessness in Central Florida rare, brief, and one time.  When not working with her clients, Jo enjoys supporting Orlando City Soccer Club, giving back to the community, home decorating, fitness, nutrition, and spending time with friends and family. She is happily married to Joe Newell and the couple live happily with their pup Kai.

 CARY SCIPIO, New Haven - BOARD VICE CHAIR  Cary Scipio graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science from The University of the Southern Caribbean in 2011. In 2013, Cary moved to Florida and in 2015 he graduated from Nova Southeastern University with his Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. Cary is currently working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking as a therapist.  Cary has been a dedicated volunteer with From Outside In from the very beginning. His passion for vulnerable youth in our community makes him a great asset to the team.  Outside of work Cary loves going to the beach and spending time outside in nature. Cary describes himself as an avid cook, gardener, home decorator, entertainer and family oriented person! He loves spending anytime that he is not working with his family and husband and he looks forward to growing his family in the near future.

 TOM DURKEE, Withum - FINANCE CHAIR  With over 38 years of professional accounting experience, Thomas is a partner in the Withum’s Orlando office specializing in accounting and auditing. He is responsible for managing the tax aspects of many engagements in which he is involved and provides consulting and litigation support services. Additional services provided by Thomas include business analysis, expert witness testimony, forecasts and projections, fraud and investigative accounting, mergers and acquisitions, engagements, employee benefit plans, succession planning and tax planning. Industries in which he has an extensive expertise consist of agribusiness, common interest realty associations, construction, manufacturing, not-for-profit, professional associations, real estate, retail, wholesale distributors and timeshare developers. Prior to joining the firm, Thomas was a partner and founding member of Averett Warmus Durkee, which joined Withum in January 2016.  Thomas received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rollins College. He is a certified public accountant licensed in Florida, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) where he previously served on the organization’s Accounting Principles and Auditing Stands Committee and is past chair of the Common Interest Realty Associations Section. James settles and manages litigation on high exposure bodily injury claims throughout the state of Florida.
